"BEWARE PLANET EARTH!": FIRST MONTH SUMMARY!
Hi there!
Here are some hot news to go with this hot weather!
“Beware Planet Earth!” has been out for almost one month now, and we’re very happy about all the feedback we got!
Thanks for your comments, it’s a real pleasure to read them!

It’s by far the most delicate task to us: communicate and get “Beware Planet Earth!” known in the big world!
Indeed, it’s a brand new subject to tackle when we published our very own game. We had a solid experience of how to develop a video game, but on the other hand our knowledge was pretty thin, marketing-wise.
We did thought the task to be harsh, and we can’t say we’re disappointed about the challenge involved :)
We contacted no less than 350 specialized websites and magazines, and around 45 among them actually posted a news, or out launch trailer and demo. The game has now 10 reviews, and 8 ratings, which makes an average rating of 7,6 out of 10!
We are quite obviously very happy that it gets such a good reception! And another good thing is that the game progressively gets out of France and gets worldwide reviews.
You may read the reviews there (most are in french!):
Gamezebo (9/10)
GamerObs (8/10)
Entertainment-focus (9/10)
PlayItLive (8/10)
God is a geek (6/10)
Capsule Computers (7,5/10)
Gamekult (5/10)
XGN (8/10)
We also had a review on Game Side Story as well as a looong interview on this very same website! (both are in french; sorry world!)
We also had video previews and reviews and we’d like to thank At0mium, PandaManga88 (and his Lulu!) as well as Gaurox from Indius.fr for their nice videos!
…and if you want to hear what Barney’s accent sounds like in German, you may check MarvZockt’s video! :)
Players who tried the demo or beat the game are also very enthusiastic, and we could also read positive comments on a torrent site (we’ll come back later on piracy, in another post)!
There are some means to get our game known around we have yet to make the most of (we gave away free codes to download the game at Japan Expo, an otaku convention, some days ago), and we still have a bunch of websites to contact. It’s an exciting challenge, and we’re learning tons of stuff each day!

“What about the sales volume? What will you be doing next?…”
“Beware Planet Earth!” is still only available for purchase from our very own website. Even though the sales volume is still pretty low (we’re still under 1000 copies sold), they are still well beyond our expectations (Foug was the most pessismistic one among us :p). On a short-term basis, the most vital thing to do now is to reach the critical mass to cover the company creation expenses. We’re still quite confident and optimistic for what’s yet to come…
…for we’re currently negotiating with several online retailers, and we’ll soon be able to get the game on other websites and marketplaces. This takes quite a lot of time, more than we had imagined, but this allowed us to work on the game meanwhile and release two patches to fix bugs: the last big issues we heard of are now nothing more than a memory thanks to people who helped us track them down. Thanks to all of you!

| â–² A sneak peek of the Veteran Mode! |
…Oh and some more good news: a brand new “Veteran Mode” is under way, for the more experienced gamers out there, who usually find “Beware Planet Earth!” way to easy. It will, of course, be available for free in a future update. We are pretty happy about how this mode is doing, and it’s a great pleasure to be able to keep improving the game by hearing the players’ feedback. It’s partly what we were hoping for by founding Lightmare, and we’re quite thrilled to work with such freedom.
And that concludes this first summary about the sales. See you soon! ;)
