Hello everyone, here is a short tutorial to run Beware Planet Earth ! on Linux.
The game works perfectly, but only with some little things to set up before.
If it does not work, go to the Settings menu, enable Debug Mode for BPE, and report it.
If i'm not clear, ask.
And enjoy this masterpiece
The game works perfectly, but only with some little things to set up before.
- Firstly, get http://www.playonlinux.com and install it (# apt-get install playonlinux on Debian)
- Then, you'll need drivers for your graphical chip
- For 64b distributions, you have to install 32b OpenGL driver ( Google it, depends what kind of chip you have.)
- When everything is allright, launch PlayOnLinux, and go to "Install" menu, then "Install a non-listed game" (or someting near, i've a french POL)
- Create a new virtual drive, name it "BewarePlanetEarth"
- When you have a choice, just select "Install a specific version of Wine"
- When asked, select Wine 1.2.3, or download it
- When POL ask you to select the installer, give the offcial BPE installer
- Install BPE, with DirectX and Visual checked in the installer
- When complete, don't launch the game now, let PlayOnLinux finish
- Create shortcut for BewarePlanetEarth.exe
- Play !
If it does not work, go to the Settings menu, enable Debug Mode for BPE, and report it.
If i'm not clear, ask.
And enjoy this masterpiece
